At Care of Carl, we have always cherished quality garments whose style lasts for generations. In a previous article, we wrote about the Old Money style, which also aligns with current style trends such as Quiet Luxury and Stealth Wealth, frequently mentioned in the same context. A common denominator for us and these styles are garments that go beyond trends and fashion. Here, we have selected a range of items from our Italian brand's Brunello Cucinelli, Brioni, and Canali that embody the same spirit.

Quiet Luxury and Stealth Wealth

Quiet Luxury can be described as a subdued style imbued with sophisticated timelessness, encapsulated by subtle luxury. The term Stealth Wealth emerged in the early 2000s as a response to excessive consumption, thus bringing about a change in values. People began to appreciate quality, craftsmanship, and discreet luxury over flashy brands and logos. Here the "less is more" principle applies, but not without thoughtfulness. For example, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in his brown crewneck t-shirt (from Brunello Cucinelli) and seemingly everyday jeans—a style that signals simplicity, subtlety and avoids excessive attention. Instead, this style focuses on quality garments and clothing from carefully selected brands.

Brunello Cucinelli

Brunello Cucinelli is the lifestyle brand and cashmere specialist particularly celebrated for its knitwear, notably their coloured cashmere sweater. Based in Solomeo, Italy, the brand manufactuers quality garments with meticulous craftsmanship infused with a humanistic culture. They often employ natural colours and soft tones, resulting in a classic and sophisticated aesthetic. Notable individuals who have been seen wearing the brand include George Clooney and David Beckham, who are big admirers of Brunello Cucinelli's clothing. Cristiano Ronaldo is Cucinelli's most renowned ambassador.

Brioni

Custom made and timeless quality garments and production in Italy, Brioni is one of the most prestigious fashion houses. The brand is renowned for their craftsmanship and exclusive selection of fabrics and materials, often featuring fine Italian and exotic fabrics such as cashmere, silk, and mohair. James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan and Anthony Hopkins are some personalities who are often seen wearing the Italian brand.

Canali

Canali is a well-known Italian luxury brand specialising in men's clothing and accessories. The brand was founded in 1934 by Giacomo Canali and is still operated as a family business. Canali is known for its high-quality tailored garments as well as their sophisticated and elegant style, appealing to individuals who prefer a timeless look. The brand has dressed many prominent figures in the film, music, and fashion industries. A brand often seen on the red carpet, worn by celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds, Colin Firth, Chris Evans, and Hugh Jackman, among others.
